Same duck- different seasons! It’s currently molting season so Maple looks a bit disheveled, but don’t worry- his bright & colorful feathers will grow back. When drakes (male ducks) molt in the summer they look more like female ducks with dull colored feathers to help camouflage them while they’re more vulnerable and can’t fly.
