THE ICONIC TROMSØ BRIDGE was the first cantilever bridge to be built in Norway. Since then, many bridges of this type have been built. The bridge is one of the most important landmarks of Tromsø, and forms part of a motif composed of the Arctic Cathedral, the Tromsdalstinden mountain, and the Tromsø Bridge. Happy 64th anniversary, Tromsø Bridge! 👑 Today marks 64 years since the iconic Tromsø Bridge was officially opened by Prime Minister Einar Gerhardsen. Tromsø native Erling Kjeldsen is considered the “father of the Tromsø Bridge” as he presented the idea as early as 1927 and worked tirelessly for its realization. The bridge is currently closed for maintenance, but it has been immensely significant for the development of Tromsø as a city, and it will be exciting to see what role the Tromsø Bridge
