This is such a fun, simple experiment to do with kids and is a really visual way of showing the function of the stem in ‘drinking up’ water. This gravity-defying process is known as capillary action. . This experiment is very easy to set up...just place a white flower (Carnations, Chrysanthemums or Roses work well) in a cup/vase and add some water and concentrated food colouring. We set ours up using the jumbo test tube set from @learningresourcesuk, which was perfect. Over the next few hours/ d
