🏀On March 9, 1977 Indiana State sophomore Larry Bird scores 44 points but the Sycamores fall to Houston 83-82 in the First Round of the NIT at Hofheinz Pavilion in Houston, Texas. Senior Otis Birdsong led the Cougars with 30 points.
