The charging cable is small so it doesn't take up much room in your pocket, car console, or pack. You can use your cell phone micro USB as an alternative. The charging port on the microstream is hidden under the bezel, you just pull it out and plug it in.

Add a couple grams of magnets (I use Bucky Balls) and you can also use it to battery bank alkaline cells (AA or larger, 3 in series) to 5V USB or charge NiMHs.

Oct 4, 2024 · In fact I've never bought batteries for this in over 8 years .. always used rechargeable. I don't like lights or really anything that recharges via USB because the connectors are so fragile and specialized . That USB port ain't gonna last for 8 years or the battery so I like the option of just popping in fresh ones .
