Meadows, the Tigers’ everyday center fielder down the stretch and through the postseason last year, is hitting .189/.256/.279 in 33 games. Eerily similar to his first 35 games last year when he hit .096/.224/.219 before getting sent to Triple-A Toledo for a reset that helped turn his season around.

Relief pitcher Chris Martin made an early exit during his appearance against the Tigers, appearing to tweak something in his right leg on a play in which the Tigers scored the go-ahead run off Martin in the eighth inning. He exited with Rangers’ training staff shortly after and was replaced by reliever Caleb Boushley.

Right-hander Carlos Hernández has a 6.17 ERA with 19 walks and 34 strikeouts across 35 innings, including an 8.68 ERA with the Detroit Tigers.
