Marcus Foster scored 22 points and Zach Freemantle added 15 while overcoming foul trouble as Xavier rallied past Texas 86-80 in a First Four game at Dayton.

Marcus Foster sank four clutch 3-pointers and scored a team-high 22 points to help Xavier rally past Texas 86-80 on Wednesday in the NCAA Tournament's final First Four game.

In a rematch of the 2023 Sweet 16, Xavier and Texas will battle Wednesday night in UD Arena for the right to go to Milwaukee.

The crowd reached a crescendo when 7-foot, 270-pound reserve center John Hugley IV gave Xavier its first lead, 75-74, of the second half with a 3-pointer with 5 minutes, 7 seconds left in the game. Texas tied the game at 78-78 on a layup by Jayson Kent at the 2:53 mark, but the Longhorns wouldn’t make another shot from the field.

The Xavier Musketeers erased a double-digit deficit to defeat the Texas Longhorns in a matchup of two No. 11 seeds in the NCAA Tournament First Four Wednesday night.
