Following a Game of the Year win at TGA 2025, Sandfall Interactive released a free patch for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 that added additional content like a Photo Mode. It is available now on all platforms. There’s also a new trailer that highlights how that feature works and shows off a new area added in the update.
Assassin's Creed Syndicate and Journey composer Austin Wintory joins the chorus of games industry icons heaping praise on Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and its devs.
"Rejoin the Expedition on another journey through the whimsical hideout of a young Verso," Sandfall's official description reads. "In a land crafted through joy and innocence, sometimes darkness is uncovered when imagination gets carried away.
Expedition 33 was something quite remarkable. While it might not have caught everyone’s attention when it was first announced, its release was a game everyone was talking about. There were so many players digging into this title that it was easily a contender right out of the gate for Game of the Year.
It goes without saying that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has since become a success story for annals, blowing away expectations of what an indie studio is capable of in the right hands. With plenty to celebrate after the 2025 Game Awards ceremony, Sandfall Interactive dropped an unexpected free DLC for fans to enjoy.
