Riding on Josh Inglis' unbeaten 120, Australia chased down England 351/8 to record the highest-ever run chase in ICC tournaments. The previous highest run chase in any ICC ODI event was Pakistan's 345 against Sri Lanka at the 2023 ODI World Cup.

Ben Duckett set a new Champions Trophy record with stunning 165 off 143 balls to propel England to 351-8, but a banged-up bowling attack -Jofra Archer having spells off the field - failed to defend it;

Inglis carted six sixes and eight boundaries, including the winning maximum off express fast bowler Mark Wood. Australia were struggling at 27-2 with Travis Head (six) and skipper Steve Smith (five) falling to Jofra Archer and Wood respectively.
