Crews were on scene working to douse the fire at WB Scrap Metal at 5000 Paris Road as of 5:30 p.m., according to Kim Gritter, a spokesperson for the Sheriff's Office. Paris Road was closed for about an hour in both directions and motorists were asked to avoid the area before it was reopened at about 6:30 p.m., Gritter said.
