( The Hill) — President Trump stood in defense of Attorney General Pam Bondi on Saturday evening, praising her for doing a “FANTASTIC” job as she faces intense scrutiny from some of the president’s supporters over her handling of files related to disgraced financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The fallout from the Epstein files flop led to media reports indicating Patel and Bongino were planning to resign amid their purported feud with Bondi.
On Friday, the Daily Wire reported that Patel wants Bondi gone and will leave the FBI if Bongino resigns. “Source close to DOJ says Kash Patel also wants Pam Bondi gone, and that he’d consider leaving if Bongino leaves.
The Trump administration is facing significant blowback from Democrats and MAGA supporters over its handling of the Epstein files.
