FDA advises public not to eat, sell, or serve certain imported frozen shrimp from an Indonesian firm - This recall is due to possible contamination with Cesium-137. The products were sold at Walmart stores in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas and West Virginia.
Per the report, the shrimp could be contaminated with the radioactive isotope, Cesium-13. The good news is that so far the FDA said that none of the shrimp sold have actually tested positive. The warning was issued after the FDA said it detected radiation in a single shipment of frozen shrimp from the Indonesian company.
