The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for portions of southeast Louisiana and southern Mississippi from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday. Temperatures could feel like 110 degrees in New Orleans and Baton Rouge, making for a sweltering start to the week, forecasters said.

Heat indices, or "feels-like" temps, in New Orleans and Baton Rouge could reach anywhere from 108 to 112 degrees. Other affected areas include Slidell, Hammond, Houma, Gulfport and Pascagoula. Actual high temperatures are expected to be between 93 to 97 degrees.
The heat advisory includes parts of Delaware, Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut and New Jersey, where two people died in flooding.
