Thousands of Yemenis crowded the capital Sanaa Friday to express their support for the Iran-backed Huthi rebels, who say they will maintain pressure on Israel despite the imminent Gaza ceasefire.

Explosions were heard over Jerusalem as sirens blared throughout the city and central Israel on Saturday morning, AFP reported. The Israeli military confirmed that it intercepted a projectile soon after it was launched at around 10:20am local time from Yemen. The incident came just ahead of a ceasefire in the ongoing Gaza conflict.

Four of the port's five tugboats needed to escort the large ships bringing imports had sunk, while the fifth was damaged, a UN official has said.

SANAA: Yemen's Houthi rebels said Tuesday they would limit their Red Sea attacks to vessels linked to Israel during the ceasefire in the Gaza war.

SANAA: Yemen’s Houthi rebels threatened on Thursday to keep up their attacks if Israel did not respect the recently announced ceasefire in its war against Hamas. The rebels, part of Iran’s “axis of resistance”, have been attacking Israel and commercial shipping in the Red Sea throughout the war in Gaza, claiming solidarity with the Palestinians.
