WNBA free agency has opened and a three-team trade sending Jewell Loyd to Las Vegas and Kelsey Plum to Los Angeles has started the wheels spinning.

The Storm stand to gain the most long-term advantage if they are able to parlay this trade into landing UConn guard Paige Bueckers in the upcoming draft.

The WNBA began their free agency period with a bang this past weekend headlined by a blockbuster three-team trade featuring two U.S. Olympians.

But Plum’s move wasn’t the only splash. WNBA champion Jewell Loyd, who requested a trade at the end of last year, is also on the move, taking Plum’s roster spot in Las Vegas as part of a three-team trade.

Also, the Aces received the No. 13 pick in the 2025 draft from Los Angeles; the Sparks received the No. 9 pick and a 2026 second-round pick from Seattle; and the Storm will receive the Aces' 2026 first-round pick.

The Seattle Storm are reportedly trading six-time All-Star Jewell Loyd as part of a three-team deal that involves former UW Huskies great Kelsey Plum.

The Los Angeles Sparks, Las Vegas Aces and Seattle Storm agreed to a multi-team deal that will see Kelsey Plum head to Southern California and Jewell Loyd to Sin City, ESPN's Shams Charania, Ramona Shelburne, Kendra Andrews and Alexa Philippou reported Sunday, citing league sources.

The Storm are reportedly sending Jewell Loyd to the Las Vegas Aces in a three-team deal that also sends former UW star Kelsey Plum to the Los Angeles Sparks.
