The Arizona Diamondbacks’ front office is holding their collective breath after All-Star third baseman Eugenio Suarez left Monday night’s game

Eugenio Suarez left the game after getting hit by a pitch on Monday. The Tigers have reportedly shown interest in trading for him.

The 34-year-old leads MLB in RBI with 87 and is arguably the best hitter rumored to be available at the July 31 trade deadline. The Diamondbacks, who fell to 51-56 after Monday’s loss, appear to be sellers and already traded first baseman Josh Naylor to the Seattle Mariners last week.

Their 6-0 loss to right-hander Paul Skenes on Sunday, July 27, meant the Diamondbacks left town having dropped two of three to a subpar Pittsburgh Pirates team. It also meant they lost a second consecutive game started by a pitcher who could be traded in the coming days.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have already made two moves before the July 31 deadline. General Manager Mike Hazen says he's going to do what's best for the long-term.
