Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James challenged the Minnesota Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards to "make the next step" after the Wolves eliminated the Lakers from the 2025 NBA playoffs. The two shared a quick exchange on the court following Minnesota's 103-96 win in Game 5:

LeBron James had his 22nd NBA season come to an end Wednesday night with a Game 5 loss at home to the Timberwolves. Moments after the final whistle he had a powerful message for Anthony Edwards, whose stardom is only on the rise after another playoff series win.

Edwards also called out Stephen A. Smith, Paul Pierce and all of the other analysts at ESPN who counted out Minnesota in this series. They all had the Lakers coming out of this first-round clash, and Edwards and the Wolves just made them eat their words.
