Sightings of walruses in the UK are rare. Volunteers at a wildlife charity kept a close eye on the animal, which was seen in Elie in Fife, before it left the next morning.

The walrus was spotted near Elie on 31 January but it was not made public in order to protect the animal from onlookers and drones.
