Numerous states face inclement weather, including heavy rain and potential severe thunderstorms this week, forecasters say.
It's not necessarily a major storm, but we'll see a little of everything across the eastern half of the country this weekend. Here's our latest forecast.
The National Weather Service said in its Thursday forecast outlook that strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible from Friday morning in north Alabama through late Friday central and west Alabama. Forecasters added that “the environment will be supportive of damaging winds, a few tornadoes and large hail.”
A Level 2 'Slight' risk for Severe weather is in place Saturday in West-Central Georgia. These are areas that may have a slightly better opportunity for a stronger wind gust or low chance of a spin-up. A Level 1 'Marginal' risk for severe weather covers the rest of north Georgia Saturday.
