The FAA has extended the deadline for the Remote ID requirement for drone pilots by six months, pushing it from September 16 to March 16, 2024.

The Federal Aviation Administration on Wednesday gave U.S. operators of drones a six month extension to March 16, 2024 to equip their aircraft with remote identification modules.

In other words, if you currently own a drone or buy one that doesn't already comply with the new regulations, it will require an external Remote ID module by July 2023.
