The first spectacular images the Vera C. Rubin Observatory has captured are expected to be released during a public event beginning at 11 a.m. ET Monday, June 23, 2025.
This will allow the observatory to construct a better 3D map that includes distances between galaxies in all directions, as well as measure the collective glow from every galaxy that’s ever existed.
