Ukraine's gas facilities have suffered severe damage from Russian drone and missile attacks, forcing the country to import more gas

US Army Secretary Dan Driscoll held meetings with Russian officials in Abu Dhabi on Monday about a proposed plan for ending the war in Ukraine, with talks to continue Tuesday, a US official told CNN.

Belgium’s foreign minister Maxime Prévot warned that the scheme would be “adventurous and dangerous”, according to four people briefed on his remarks. He also said that his government wanted to pursue a different proposal made by the commission to instead issue joint debt to support Kyiv.
