The next total lunar eclipse will be on Sept. 7-8, 2025, visible in parts of Asia and Australia, with totality lasting 82 minutes.

A total lunar eclipse will make the moon appear red during the across the Western Hemisphere during the "Blood Worm Moon" this week.

Spectacular pictures of the moon were published as it was seen across the Americas, where a full lunar eclipse occurred, but in the UK it was only a partial eclipse because the moon had already set below the horizon by the time it was fully covered just before 7am.
