According to CVS, there are more than 9,000 pharmacies across America, which means that even after the additional closures and some new stores opening, 85% of people will still live within 10 miles of a CVS. Transparency isn't a big part of these current closings and openings right now.

CVS will exit Obamacare plans in 2026, affecting 1 million members across 17 states, and close stores amid pharmacy desert fears.

Rite Aid revealed that it has secured nearly $2 billion in financing to maintain operations during the bankruptcy process. The chain, the third-largest pharmacy chain in the country, was primarily impacted by the opioid crisis and the legal battles it faced as a result, pushing debt to almost $4 billion.

Patrons will be directed to the 24-hour 2000 Pennsylvania Ave. location, which is located inside Western Market.

Billings’ CVS Pharmacy store on the corner of 24th Street and Grand Avenue is closing. The store’s last day will be Wednesday, June 18, said store manager Jeff Jambretz. This is the second Billings CVS location to close in 2025; though Jambretz said it will be the last.

Several Massachusetts Walgreens stores are slated to close in the next six weeks, according to the store's website.

Walgreens is retracting its retail footprint, with the trusted retail chain closing 500 stores across the U.S. this fiscal year alone. According to Yahoo Finance, the 500 stores are among 1,200 locations that Walgreens plans to shutter overall. According to Newsweek, Walgreens still runs about 8,500 stores throughout the United States.
