As a presidential candidate and after taking office, Donald Trump promised he wouldn't cut Social Security benefits. He has honored that pledge so far in his second term. However, that doesn't mean he hasn't touched Social Security at all.

Meanwhile, the Department of Education faces the potential of being dismantled entirely.However, one agency that has been the subject of mixed messages from the Trump Administration is Social Security—a program which sends retirement and disability benefits to over 70 million people through the Social Security Administration (SSA).

Public confidence in the economy has been rattled by news out of the White House, most recently noises about cuts to Social Security and Medicaid.
