Macy's is closing six locations in Texas, one of those in Houston's Almeda Mall this year as part of its previously announced "A Bold New Chapter" strategy that focuses on closing underperforming stores.

Macy's has released a list of 66 "underproductive" stores it plans to close, three are in Georgia. More closures are expected at a later date.

Macy's said on Thursday that it plans to close 150 stores in 22 states throughout the country for underperformance as the company's next step in finding its way to profitability again.

All 66 locations will begin clearance sales this month that will run for approximately eight to 12 weeks, according to Macy’s FAQ page. The post Macy’s store in Mass. among dozens closing across the U.
