Irmo faced Summerlin South of Nevada in a winner’s bracket game among the United States teams. But before they took the field, South Carolina women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley delivered a message to the team as they watched on an Ipad.

After a heartbreaking loss on Tuesday, the Irmo All-Stars bounced back to stay alive in the Little League World Series. Pitcher Brady Westbrooks tossed a complete game and Irmo's defense came up big to defeat Hawaii, 3-0, on Tuesday in an elimination game at Lamade Stadium in Williamsport, Pa.

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, PENNSYLVANIA— Fresh off a thrilling win over defending 2024 LLWS champion Lake Mary in the Southeast Regional final, Irmo LL of South Carolina cruised past Braintree LL of Massachusetts — the New England Region champion — 13-0 in one-hit fashion in each team’s Williamsport opener on Thursday.

Monday’s matchup was highlighted by both starting pitchers. Irmo’s Joe Giulietti threw a six-inning no-hitter and tallied 12 strikeouts on 88 pitches. The Mountain team’s starter, Garrett Gallegos, also totaled 12 strikeouts, but gave up five hits on 85 pitches.

The loss drops Irmo into the loser’s bracket of the LLWS. Irmo will play Hawaii in an elimination game on Tuesday at 3 p.m.

The 2025 Little League World Series is officially underway. Eight teams continue their quest to win it all in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, on Monday in the annual summer tournament. A new winner will be crowned in 2025 after last year's champion, Lake Mary, Florida, was eliminated in the regional round.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (WIS) - The Little League team from Irmo will be back in action at the Little League World Series on Monday. The Southeast region champions will take on the Mountain region team from Las Vegas at 3 p.m. The team advanced after rolling over New England 13-0 on Thursday.

The Irmo All-Stars, winners of the Little League's Southeast Regional, play New England Regional champion Braintree American at 3 p.m. Thursday at Lamade Stadium in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The game will air on ESPN and be streamed on the ESPN App.
