See, NBCUniversal has been pushing really hard over the last few years to make Peacock a destination for sports streaming. That includes brokering a lot of deals with the leagues, notably one that’ll go into effect this October to make Peacock the streaming home of the NBA—at a price tag of $2.
The raised rates, which take effect on July 23, 2025, will see the ad-supported Peacock Premium plan rising from $7.99 to $10.99 per month, and the mostly ad-free Premium Plus plan increasing from $13.99 to $16.99 per month.
Live Coverage Begins in Primetime This Saturday, July 19, at 8 p.m. ET on CNBC and Peacock Encore Presentation this Sunday, July 20, at 4 p.m. ET on NBC NBC Sports to Present Live Coverage of U.S. Gymnastics Championships from Aug.
As part of the deal, NBCUniversal and Peacock will pay $1.5 million to L.A. County's Department of Consumer and Business Affairs; $100,000 to cover the investigation costs and $2 million in civil penalties.
