Matt Ryan officially has a new job with the Atlanta Falcons, meaning he is leaving his old one behind.Ryan accepted the Falcons’ president of football role on Saturday and will be in charge of the team’s football operations going forward.
Retired quarterback Matt Ryan laid out his initial vision after the Atlanta Falcons hired him as their new president of football.
Matt Ryan, the Falcons’ new president of football, shared his vision for the franchise during the “The NFL Today” show on CBS on Sunday. “You want to be in the mix,” Ryan said. “In the playoffs. It’s been too long there. We are going to work really hard and find the right people to get us back into that position to be successful.”
That said, we're told that Ryan will appear on Sunday's The NFL Today in advance of the playoff game between the Bills and Jaguars. It's expected that Ryan will address his departure from CBS, and explain his new role with the Falcons.
As it turns out, Matt Ryan may not be long for the sports media space. Last week, Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer reported that the Atlanta Falcons were having conversations with their former MVP quarterback about a potential front office role.
