Missouri senators authorized hundreds of millions of dollars worth of incentives to try to persuade the Chiefs and Royals to continue playing in the state.

The Missouri Senate has approved legislation incentivizing the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals to stay in their state, with the threat of the teams moving to Kansas looming. The bill needed 18 votes to pass and was approved 19-13.

Both teams face big decisions in the month ahead, as Missouri lawmakers prepare to gather for a special session.
