Jos Buttler has resigned as England white-ball captain after his team made an early exit from the Champions Trophy with back-to-back defeats against Australia and Afghanistan.

After losing 22 of 34 ODIs as skipper, Buttler said it was "the right decision for me and the team", and said he hoped his successor could take the team "back to where it needs to be".
