President Donald Trump ’s pick to head the Bureau of Labor Statistics, who previously proposed scrapping monthly jobs reports, is now backing off that idea, according to a report.

President Trump announced E.J. Antoni as his nominee to lead the Bureau of Labor Statistics on Monday, after he fired the former commissioner earlier this month and blamed her for a weaker-than-expected jobs report.

The Heritage Foundation’s chief economist, EJ Antoni, who President Donald Trump recently appointed to lead the Bureau of Labor Statistics, told Fox Business ahead of his nomination that the bureau should do away with its monthly job reports.
