By Mrinmay Dey Dec 14 (Reuters) - Providence police have detained a "person of interest" in connection with the Brown University shooting that left two students dead and another nine people wounded at the U.

The shooting erupted Saturday afternoon in the engineering building of the Ivy League school in Providence, Rhode Island, during final exams.

At least two people were killed and nine more wounded in a shooting Saturday afternoon in a building on the campus of Brown University in Rhode Island, authorities said.

In a message posted to the Brown University website at 5:42 a.m. Sunday, school officials said Providence police have advised the university that the shelter in place order has ended for the entire Brown campus.
